September 2018 Google Webmaster Report
Here is our monthly Google Webmaster report with the big ticket item being the Google Medic Update coverage, with some other updates this past month as well. Google launched a link report in the new Google Search Console, updated some reporting and launched some new search features this past month. A lot happened in the past month, so if you took a lot of the month off for the summer, here is a quick way to catch up.
Like I said, the August 1st Google update I named the Google Medic Update even thought it did not only impact health related sites. We covered this update extensively, so you can see our coverage below. There were some other updates this month, linked to below.
Google released a new link report in the new Google Search Console, updated a report causing confusion, also made the index report more accurate and added a bunch of features I linked to below. Google also launched expandable featured snippets, showed off new search features and fixed the video carousel issue some were complaining about.
Finally, the ongoing WebmasterWorld thread is pretty slow right now, just some complaints about traffic declines over the Labor Day weekend in the US now.
